Why You Shouldn’t Slow Play Often

A slow play is when you under bet the value of your hand. This is done to deceive your opponents. Often this play can go horribly wrong. Many times players lose their whole stack trying to be sneaky.

I’m not saying that you should never slow play. I do think that you need the right situation to do it. Most players slow play at the wrong times. Let’s look at why you should be careful.

Here is a classic bad slow play. You have AA. It’s early in the tournament and everyone has plenty of chips. You make a small raise looking for action. You get a couple of callers, and the on flop out comes A 6 10 rainbow.

You now bet the minimum, hoping to keep someone interested. You get one call. The turn is a 9. You bet the minimum, again hoping he thinks you’re weak.

Then your opponents make a big raise. Convinced he has no idea what you have you happily call. The river is a harmless 2, so you make a bet hoping for a call. Your opponent immediately pushes all in.

Well, you can’t fold, can you? You call, and when he flips over 78 of diamonds, your jaw drops. You’re out of the tournament. Out because you slow played yourself out.

When you bet small pre flop, you let people in. When you bet small on the flop, you kept them around. When he pushes all in, you have to call, and you’re done.

Most players then think about how unlucky they were in this hand. Are they right? Well, a little, but not completely. Let’s take a closer look.

All the bets you made were designed to keep players in the hand. By doing so you helped someone hit a long shot. When you call at the end you plan on seeing two pair, or a smaller set. But, when you think about it, these hands would be calling big bets too. You didn’t need to slow play against these hand that you’d beat.

By not betting much, you wouldn’t have made that many chips against some hands that would have been calling you. On the other hand, you get creamed when you make it cheap for someone to hit a long shot.

I think we all learn this lesson the hard way, by losing a few hands this way. I’m not saying never slow play, but most of the time it won’t make you more chips. In addition, sometimes you’ll get burned, bad.

The Language of Poker Can Be Mysterious

The people who play poker speak their own language. A person who has never played poker but wants to start needs to learn a few basic words that will help them to not be automatically ambushed as a novice. This will help them to keep the other players from ganging up on them to get them out of the game quickly.

Most items in a game of poker have their own names. In Texas Hold’em, the most different language of all forms of poker is used. A new player will understand most any game of poker by learning the lingo of Texas Hold’em.

The game of Texas Hold’em starts out with up to five players and a dealer. A player is the dealer and allowed to bet and play in private at home games. The first person to bet during each round is acknowledged by the use of a chip or small device that is passed around to each player in turn.

This chip goes to the person to the left of the dealer. This first person bets what is called the small blind. The person to the left of the first person bets the big blind.

The small blind is half of the big blind and usually the minimum in most games. The first two face down cards are dealt to all the players after the first two place their blinds. After this, which is called an ante in regular games of poker, the players decide if they are going to bet or fold after looking at their hole cards, the two that were dealt face down.

The player puts their two initial cards into the middle of the table if they decide to fold. If the player decided to bet, they will bet the same amount as the big blind. The first person who had placed the small blind then decides if he or she would like to stay in and if so, they will add to their small blind making it equal to the big blind.

The dealer will place the flop onto the middle of the table once it has been established who is going to continue in the game. The first three face-up cards are the flop. The flop is the start of the community cards that sit in the middle of the table for all the players to use.

The community cards in the middle of the table are called the window. All the players use these five cards plus their two hole cards to determine a winning hand. The last two community cards are called the turn and the river, respectively.

After each, the flop, the turn and the river, are placed, the players can make bets. The person with the dealer’s chip makes the first bet, unless he has folded. If he has folded then the next person to the left bets first.

After all the bets have been made, the players will then perform what is called a showdown. That is, if there is more than one player left at the end of the round. The showdown is when the remaining players show their cards to reveal who has the highest-ranking hand.

The highest-ranking hand wins the round. If a player bets all their money and loses, they are eliminated from the game. Knowing the language will help you look like you know what you are doing and if you practice it, it is not a very complex language.

Playing Texas Holdem Seriously

Throughout the beginning of the 21st century, Texas Hold’em gained in popularity. The game got its start in Robstown, Texas but the first tournaments were held in Las Vegas. During the 1960’s a group of men from Texas brought the game up to Las Vegas.

The richer gamblers who frequented Las Vegas took a while to catch on to the game. The game took off once it did get into the more glamorous casinos. Numerous books have been written about it and many televised shows have been made.

The World Series of Poker is the most famous televised show about Texas Hold’em. Its first tournament was in 2003, when an online contestant, Chris Moneymaker, won a chance to play through the online game and then went on to win the entire pot. Many people were inspired to become the next to win millions from Texas Hold’em.

Texas Hold’em is a version of community poker where the players bet blind bets before the dealer hands out the first two of seven cards. After the blind bet, the other players decide if they want to ante based on what two cards they were dealt. Once all the players, who will stay in on that hand, have anted, the dealer then puts out three face up cards onto what is called the window.

Usually in the middle of the table for all the players to see, the window is where the dealer places the community played cards. The community cards, five of the seven, are shared by all the players to make their winning hands. The two cards the players are dealt are face down for the whole game until the showdown.

After the three community cards, or the flop, has been dealt, the real betting will begin. Using the three community cards in the window and the two face down cards they were dealt, the players will determine if their cards could possibly make a winning hand. After this decision, the player will decide if they are going to stay in or fold.

The calls the players make once the first player has made his bet are to see the bet, raise the bet or fold. To see the bet, the player will bet the same amount as the original bettor’s bet. To raise a bet, the player adds another amount to the original bettor’s amount.

Players of Texas Hold’em have four chances to bet. The first is, of course before the flop is dealt, then after the flop, and one time each after the next two cards are dealt. Raising a bet, and betting four times can make a pot in this game fairly large.

There are three forms of Texas Hold’em. These are Limit Hold’em, no-limit Hold’em, and pot limit Hold’em. In the limit version of the game, each bet has a set amount called a small bet and a big bet; No-Limit Hold’em is the most popular of the three types.

In No-Limit, a small blind starts the betting with the player to the left of the dealer and the next player bets the big blind. The big blind is usually twice the size of the small blind. The players who want to stay in will bet equal amounts to the big blind once all the players have received their hole cards.

The game ends when the river card, the last of the window cards, has been revealed and the final bet has been made. Depending upon whether more than one player has stayed in, or not folded, there will be a showdown. The player who has the best hand will win the game of Texas Hold’em.

Getting a Winning Poker Hand

by Poker Joker

The majority of the talent involved in playing poker is actually simply the luck of the draw. Getting the winning hand not only depends on what cards are dealt but also on how well the player can read the cards. Knowing all the different hands that can be dealt helps in getting that winning hand.

Putting together a winning hand is easier if the player knows the different ranks of a hand of poker. There are only nine hands that can be made out of being dealt five cards. The player has a better chance of winning if their hand is higher on the list.

A high card, one pair, two pairs, three of a kind, a flush, a straight, a full house, four of a kind, and a straight flush are the ranks of poker hands. It is redundant to say that a royal straight flush is the highest hand possible since this is just a straight flush with all face cards. Either way, a straight flush is almost impossible to get dealt.

Getting a high card, such as an ace, is easy to do, but winning with a high card isn’t easy to accomplish. This is simply because with the odds of getting a pair in a game such as Texas Hold’em where there is a community group of cards is high. In a 52-card deck, there is a 42% chance of getting a pair.

The chances of getting a pair are much higher than those of getting two pair in seven cards. This percentage is just under 2%. The player has to be careful when betting on two pair because the other player might just pull a higher set of pairs.

There is only a 2% chance of getting three of a kind, which beats getting two pair. When playing a community version of poker, if there is a pair in the window cards, it is smart to assume that someone else has a matching card giving them three of a kind. Continue to bet if your hand seems good, but be careful if they begin to bet higher.

The ace plays a dual role in the case of a straight. When you have a straight the ace can be played as the highest of the cards or the lowest. The ace acts like a 1 in the case of a low straight and maintains its place as the highest of cards if you have a high straight.

At less than four tenths of a percent, the odds of getting a straight are tricky. Expecting a card to show up in the window is trying for an inside straight, like having the 7, 8, 10, and jack and waiting for the 9. this is a very tricky situation as it is very unusual for the player to get an inside straight.

With only two tenths of a chance to get a flush, it is a hard hand to receive. A flush is a hand that has five cards that are all of the same suit such as hearts or spades. If there are three or more cards of the same suit in the window, it is a safe bet that another player has a flush.

One of the highest, and most winning hands achievable is the full house. It is exciting to draw a full house because there is only a .15% chance of drawing it. A set of three of a kind and a pair makes a full house.

The chances of getting a four of a kind or a straight flush are extremely tiny. It does happen but extremely rarely. Remembering the chances of getting these different hands helps the player in betting and also in bluffing, especially during a community game where everyone can see five available cards.

Are Their Winning Online Poker Players Out There?

It might seem silly to want to be a professional poker player. To others however, there is no other profession desired. Poker, to the rest, is a fun pastime that can be financially rewarding as well as a confidence boost.

For those of us who wish to make money from playing poker, professionally or otherwise, it is necessary to know a few simple rules of the game. The most important rule, when playing a game like poker, is to know your opponents. Knowing the other players and the signs the players provide telling you whether they have a good hand or a poor one, will help you become the best poker player you can be.

A tell is the sign that poker players have. If you have a tell you might as well be holding your hand so that all the players can see your cards. Different types of tells are the facial expressions made when you have a winning or losing hand and how you are betting.

Beginner tells that most players who have been playing for a while and will no longer convey are facial expressions like surprise or anguish. A rudimentary law of poker is knowing your own facial expressions and controlling them. If you are playing with seasoned players, you cannot always trust this type of tell.

Betting is the most basic of tells that people mostly cannot control consciously. An aggressive player will force the other players to bet more on a hand that the player knows will not succeed. This is actually a good move in most cases.

In the cases where it is a good choice to play aggressively, the bettor usually has a very low hand that might win, like an ace in the hole. Another time this is a good play is when the other players do not have as many chips as you have. If the other players, or at least one of them, has a better amount of chips, that player can equally force you to bet all in when you do not have a winning hand.

Pay equal attention to the other players’ tells and the other characteristics of the game. An important characteristic you should watch is what cards are in the window, or the community cards, and how the other players are betting on them. It is a good idea to fold your hand if the window and the betting show that someone has a sure-fire winner.

You have a good hand if you were dealt a pair in your hole, the two face-down cards you were dealt in the beginning. You can play aggressively even if it is just a pair of twos. Bluffing with a pair, to either make the other players think you have an amazing hand or to make them think you have a rotten hand, usually wins because the chance of getting a pair is much higher than the chances of getting two pairs.

The chances are that the other players do not have a pair if they don’t seem to want to bet more than the minimum. If you have an ace in the hole, you can bet, but not aggressively, unless you enjoy risks and have enough chips to back up your adventurous nature. It is always possible, though, that the window will reveal a pair for another player.

Any play that you feel comfortable with is a good play. Once you have been playing for a while against people who have a little knowledge of the game, you will be able to tell what to do with the first two cards you are dealt. Just, most important, watch for tells, yours and theirs.

If you feel comfortable with the play, it is a good play. After you have been playing with players who have a little knowledge of the game for a while, you will be able to tell what to do right when you are dealt the first two cards. Always remember, the most important rule; watch for your tells and others.

Simple Strategies Help to Win at Poker

by Poker Cracker

There is no one strategy for winning a poker game. Since the luck of the draw is a major factor in winning at cards, poker is one of the hardest games to master. Many people have become master poker players so it is not an impossible dream.

Always play as though you can see your opponent’s cards. The player who can do so has the key to winning it all. If you can play this way, you will play carefully and strategically.

One of the most important and hardest to understand concepts in the strategy of playing poker is beating the pot odds by having a higher chance of winning. Pot odds are when the ratio of the amount of the pot to the amount required to stay in the game. For example, if the pot is $100 and the amount needed to bet is $20 then the ratio is 5:1.

The chance of winning odds must be better than the pot odds. In this example, say there are only four people betting. The chance of winning is 4:1 making the chance of winning higher than that of the pot odds.

To either break even or slim down the amount of players, this ration must be met. The chance of winning is greater than the pot odds if four or fewer players are playing, however, if there are more players, the chance of winning is lessened. Those who pay attention to this ratio have a better chance of staying in the game than those who don’t.

The amount of quick thinking raises as the amount of the pot raises which makes this a very hard strategy to grasp. To still have time to make your play while the timer is running; don’t take up too much time figuring out the odds. A good strategy in poker is taking your time, but with the time limit being so short, it is not a good idea to take up all that time figuring out the odds when you should be figuring out your hand.

The essential trait a person needs in order to win at poker is being able to be deceptive. Bluffing and slow playing are two key elements of deception. Being able to figure out people’s tells and reading their poker faces is also very helpful.

The principle strategy of poker that every book and website stress is bluffing. You have to make another player believe what you want him or her to believe about your hand. This is the best tactic for winning as you bluff the players by how much you bet on each hand.

Make sure you have a winner of a hand and then bet just above the minimum of the flop and the turn. Never begin a hand by betting too heavily because you opponents will see this as a tell. When you have a bad hand but still want to win, bet smoothly to make the other players think you have a better hand that you really do.

Slow playing is a non-aggressive deception where the player has a very bad hand but bets very low to make the other players bet. Once the other players are deep into the hand, the slow player continues to bet low until the other players feel the hand is too dangerous and fold. Pushing the other players to fold by slowly making the pot bigger is a very easy deception, unless you’ve already shown this as a tell.

Being careful to not show the other players your hand by giving off hints, such as betting too big when you have a good hand, is a key to winning. These strategies will not always work in every hand as the majority of the chance of winning relies on what cards are flopped. However, these strategies will help you to, at least, eliminate many other players.

Poker Comes in All Shapes and Sizes

A language of their own is spoken by poker players. A few basic words needs to be learned by those who want to start playing poker but have never played to keep them from being automatically ambushed as a novice. Other players will not gang up on them if the new players learn the language.

Each item in a game of poker has its own name. Texas Hold’em has the most different language out of all the forms of poker. Using the Texas Hold’em lingo will help a new player to understand most any game of poker.

To fold, the player puts their two cards into the middle of the table. To bet, the player will bet the same amount as the big blind. If the first person who betted wants to continue in the game, he must add to his bet in order to make it the same amount as the big blind.

Once it has been established as to who is going to continue in the game, the dealer will place the flop onto the middle of the table. The flop is the first three face-up cards. These cards start the community cards that sit in middle of the table for all the players to use.

The community cards in the middle of the table are called the window. All the players use these five cards plus their two hole cards to determine a winning hand. The last two community cards are called the turn and the river, respectively.

After each time the dealer deals cards, the hole cards, the flop, the turn and the river, the players place bets. Unless he or she has folded, the first person to bet would be the person with the dealer’s chip. If this person has folded, the next person in line to the left would bet first.

The players will then perform what is called a showdown after all the bets have been made. If there is more than one player left at the end of the round, there will be a showdown. The showdown is the final act in poker where the remaining players show their cards to reveal what hands they were able to make.

The highest-ranking hand wins the round. If a player bets all their money and loses, they are eliminated from the game. Knowing the language will help you look like you know what you are doing and if you practice it, it is not a very complex language.

The game of poker has been played throughout the ages by many people. However, the game itself has often been regulated to only the “professional” gamblers. This is not the case any longer, as now poker can be played from the comfort of your own home online.

There are many websites that offer poker games. These games have different rules depending upon the website. Due to the fact that any one can play online, if you have the slightest ability to bluff someone you cannot see, then it is quite easy to win at poker online.

Detailed instructions on how to play, wagering, and how to win are offered on many websites. The sections that define how to play are almost all the same no matter which type of poker you want to play. Poker only has a few very simple to learn rules.

Wagering in poker can get tricky, as you cannot see your opponents. This inability to find “tells” in the other players poses a problem for some players. A “tell” is a mannerism that exposes whether a person is lying about what they have or if they really have a good hand.

Winning at poker can come with difficulty. Whether your hand will hold strong enough throughout the entire hand often depends upon the luck of the draw. Sometimes having three aces, which is a very good hand, can be beaten because someone else has a hidden pair that gives them a full house.

The online poker websites give examples of when to hold onto your cards or just throw them away. Anyone who learns to be a good bluffer could beat a professional. Many online sites give examples of when someone is bluffing, but that is not a surefire way to knowing.

A few websites offer tutorials to help the novice learn the essentials of the game. To learn the finer points of the game, for those who do not learn by reading, the tutorials are a great asset. Because there are many different factors to a poker hand, tutorials can take some time.

If you are too excited to sit through a tutorial, watch a couple of hands at an online table to get the idea of how to play. Once you think you have the gist of the game, take a seat and start to play. Being as the game is online poker, usually you are not betting real money out of your pocket, so it is easy to get reckless in an online game.

Use that excited energy to find your online opponents tells. The players need to focus on the betting styles of the other players rather than watching their body movements making online games more thrilling. You are well on your way to winning the pot after you have figured out if someone is bluffing by raising too quickly or raising too late.

Online poker offers two kinds of memberships, free and paid. the players are playing with either website points or simply fake money at the free memberships sites where a set limit is placed. Paid memberships are more invigorating as the players are gambling their own money which usually makes them more attentive.

For a beginner online poker games are the best choice. They not only offer practice games for learning but also give detailed descriptions of the game. Online poker let’s the player practice until he or she feels strong enough to start betting real money and winning real money.

Blastoids Gold Guide any good?

If you want to make tons of wow gold, there is only 1 gold guide to consider, Blastoids Gold Guide. This guide has what every other gold guide has and more, you not only get tons of gold making tips, but also 1-375 profession guides for every profession and it even includes maps for mining and herbalism.

This guide doesn’t cost $40 or $50 like most WoW guides, in fact it’s almost too cheap for the amount of information contained in it. I’ve read lots of gold guides and this one is the best buy for the money.

In my personal opinion, Blastoids Gold guide is to of the line, no other gold guide for world of warcraft has this much information for such a low price. The author is a bit obscene, but he is very straight forward and isn’t pushy with his sales page.

Blastoids guide isn’t packed full of crap like many gold guides are, it is straight and to the point “This is how to make world of warcraft gold, here is where to farm, here are the items you need to sell on the auction” It doesn’t get any better than that my friends! You login to the spugnorts members area, download the guide and within 15 minutes you’ll know exactly where to go and what to sell on the auction house.

If you’re looking for a way to make insane amounts of gold in world of warcraft, Blastoids Gold Guide is will teach you exactly how to make gold, level your professions quickly and learn how to dominate the auction house. Making gold in WoW is pretty easy using the strategies covered in this guide.

Yes this guide is new to the market, but it has a lot more information than many of the other gold guides out there that claim to be the best just because they have a nice sales page, this one basically says “If you want to make Gold, I will teach you, if not, then keep begging for it…” There are no cheats, hacks, exploits, dupes or anything else that could get your account into trouble, all the techniques are 100% legit.

I really enjoyed reading this guide, it taught me some new tricks about making gold and helped me get my epic mount in less than a week, so I personally would pay a more than what the author is charging for it because the other guides cost more and are not as in-depth as this one is.
